By increasing the number of weft yarns to the maximum, the natural performance of wool fabric is greatly enhanced. This fabric has durability and great resistance to wrinkling. Even if the fabric becomes creased its stability enables a good recovery. With high usage flexibility the plain collection is recommended for both suits and slacks. Please give your consideration not only to basic colours such as black, navy and grey but also to trend colours such as solid brown, dark scarlet or moss green which are included in this collection.

Super Stretch
NEW

By using a mixed wool/polyurethane yarn for the weft we achieve a super stretch function which we can never obtain from a natural stretch fabric. It is truly appropriate to call this stretch fabric "super". We prepared a collection of classic plain colours as well as designs with a slightly retro taste, such as a small herringbone (BME3886 BME3890 BME3901), diamond pattern with a coarse touch (BME3912 BME3923),boucle stripe with “knot”(BME3934 BME3945 BME3956) etc.

2-hold 52 count yarn that used to be loved by the tailors at Savile Row in London will be revived.

HISTRICAL BACKGROUND

Since the early 20th century, this 2-hold 52 count yarn was treated as a byword for a luxury worsted yarn based on its easy hand cutting, stable quality and good reaction to the iron; making garments that fitted customers perfectly. Cloth using 2- hold 52 count yarn became established as the most outstanding material for luxury order made clothes at Savile Row. This is a famous place where many tailors lined the London street and became the origin of the word “suit”= SEBIRO in Japanese.

In recent years, due to the appearance of Italian fabric, thin and lightweight materials became a global fashion. Savile Row tailors, however, did not accept this fabric without first handling it. As one of the main fabrics, they continued to use and treasure this 2- hold 52 count yarn fabric until the end of the 20th century.

ESSENCE OF SAVILE ROW

The revival of 2-hold 52 count yarn which can be described as a “thick count yarn” in the present day, contains the philosophy of Miyuki who can never comprise on quality.

We are most particular about the quality of raw materials.
Super fine wool of 17.5μis selected for this fabric. The wool fiber is equal to super 120's which produces an even and fine fabric surface.

Garments tailored from this fabric fit the body and have an elegant fabric drape.
In the spinning process, the number of twists is increased to be more than applied to regular yarns. The finished garment fits superbly, has an elegant drape and Miyuki's "semi high twist yarn" brings an exquisite handle.

Design taste is the essence of Savile Row.
The basis of these designs is traditional British taste. We are aware of designs and colours which were loved by the erstwhile tailors at Savile Row. The British essence which can be described as the true nature of the suit is portrayed in this collection. We offer fabric designs which will add elegance and charm to the garment.

CAMELLIA OIL TREATMENT

"Washing" with camellia oil creates a smooth handle. From ancient times "camellia oil" has been used as a moisturiser for our skin and hair and we have used this oil for our 2- hold 52 count yarn fabric. "Oleic acid" which is contained in this camellia oil gives moisture to the fabric; it achieves a refined luster and a soft, smooth, moist handle.

European Method

Through the use of a single yarn in the weft which can be easily flattened, we recreate the recent European method of encouraging "smooth surface" by pressure at the finishing process. We achieve a truly flat surface hat enhances the smooth touch and rich luster.

ヨーロピアン製法

We can see the flattened weft which goes in both the right and left directions. Weft which appears on the surface shows a straight line.

Japanese Stability

Although following a European method of production, at the same time, we add Japanese sprit and knowhow of making fabrics. The quantity of weft yarns is increased to give high density.

This achieves fabric stability, beautiful tailoring and increases the length of garment life. This "high density"="stability" is a unique characteristic of Japanese fabrics. Combined with the use of good water at Yokkaichi in Mie prefecture, we continue to pursue further improvements for fabric handling.
